Graftobian Hi-Def Lipcolor Super Palette Review, Swatches & Photos
This Hi-Def Lipcolor Super Palette by Graftobian was made with the makeup artist in mind and is perfect for photoshoots as it has lots of colour choice and is lightweight and easy to carry. But should the non-makeup artist buy it? In my humble opinion, yes - read on to find out why.
First off the packaging: It comes in a simple black palette with just the company name on the top. Turn the palette over and you will find the colour names and numbers listed. It is worth noting that all the colours can be purchased individually from Graftobian in stick format.
There are 18 colours in all including two glosses. It comes with a lip brush groove, but no brush which is a little odd, but as this is aimed at mua’s, most have their own brushes they like to use, so I can understand this. There is also a 4 x 6 mirror in the lid which I also use to mix colours on. The colours are arranged in three rows of six with the lightest colours on the top working down to the darker colours on the bottom row.
I use this palette on myself and clients and find that there is a shade for every skintone and application. They apply really nicely and can be built up to go from a more sheer look to full-on colour. The pigmentation is very good and the colours last well on the lips. They do come off a little when eating or drinking, but on the whole they last well. They also feel good on the lips with plenty of moisture without being sticky.
The shades are easy to mix too (I use the sanitized mirror surface for this) and if you want to use either of the lipglosses over one of the other colours it does not interfere with the colour. But equally the glosses can be used on their own.
At around $100 CND ($70 USD) it is an expensive palette, but remember you are getting 18 colours so it only works out to just over $5 per shade.
