2016, The Year of the Concealer
Concealers in one form or another have been about for years, but this year we seem to have seen an influx of new lines from many of the major brands. Smashbox is just about to launch its latest lineup of concealers and I can think of half a dozen others this year too.
Smashbox Studio Skin 24-Hour Concealer
This concealer collection from Smashbox promises a waterproof and moisturising formula for medium to full buildable coverage with no settling, creasing, caking or streaking. It is also sweat, humidity & transfer-resistant and oil-free. It comes in 10 shades. Available now via Smashbox, but coming to other retailers soon. $25 USD.
Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer Crème
This is a creamy, blendable full-coverage concealer which promises to last 24-hours. It is moisturising to keep your skin smooth and nourished. This is promoted as not only a concealer, but a contour product too. By using a dark shade along with a lighter one you can create face contouring. Available now at Sephora $26 USD.
Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer
This is a 2-in-1 full coverage concealer with a matte finish and is available in six shades. It is a creamy concealer giving radiant coverage and can also be used as a contour product by using lighter and darker shades to shape the face. $24 USD.
Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Aquacealer Concealer
Earlier this year Tarte also launched their Aquacealer Concealer which is a medium coverage, lightweight concealer which will last 12-hours. Again, they promote its usage as a contour product. It comes in six shade options for $26 USD.
Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer
New shades were added to the Urban Decay Naked Skin line which gives a lightweight, buildable coverage with a demi-matte finish. It promises a brighter and more radiant complexion to give a youthful appearance to skin. Comes in 11 shade options at $28 USD.
Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer
Infused with coconut oil this concealer from Too Faced promises to banish the appearance of dark circles, and blur the look of lines and wrinkles for a natural finish. It comes in 10 shades and is priced at $28 USD.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Concealer
No fancy names for this product from ABH, it is simply called concealer! This is a full-coverage concealer that will not cake or settle in fine lines. It can also be used all over the face as a foundation. The 18 shade lineup can be yours for just $20 USD each.
As it’s only mid July, we can expect many more launches before the end of the year, so I expect this list to grow and grow.
