Eyeshadow Palettes I’m Glad I Resisted, ABH, Kat Von D, Too Faced, Urban Decay
Yesterday I wrote a post about the eyeshadow palettes I wish I’d bought. Today I thought it would be a good idea to talk about the palettes I’m glad I resisted. This is a longer list, but satisfying to put into writing to counteract the disappointment of not buying the previously mentioned palettes.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance
OMG, I can hear the shocked cries from here. No, I didn’t buy it and no I won’t ever buy it. I completely agree with the overwhelming reviews online that this is a very nice palette and ABH made great quality shadows, but this one is just not for me. Being very blonde and pale, the shades in this palette would not compliment me very well. I know, it’s great for everyone you say, but no, I am very adamant that this palette is not being added to my collection. I’m sure I’m going to be burnt at the stake for saying it, but there it is!
Kat Von D x Too Faced Better Together Ultimate Eye Collection
This palette collection just didn’t inspire me from the start. I am not a great lover of Too Faced shadows, but I do love Kat Von D, but the shades in this set seemed very blah! I know, this is yet another well loved palette that most people love and jump on the bandwagon to buy just because of the names associated with it. But right from the start I said I didn’t like it and I stand by my guns.
Too Faced White Chocolate Chip Eyeshadow Palette
This is another palette that didn’t catch my eye from the start. I was hoping to be proved wrong with an overwhelming number of positive reviews from my peers, but it never happened. It seemed I wasn’t the only one to be underwhelmed by this offering from Too Faced.
Urban Decay Full Spectrum Palette
I have to admit, I was very tempted with this palette. I already own the Urban Spectrum Palette and really like it and this one looked as if it would compliment it well. I did see it in the flash in Sephora and quickly swatched it, but was unimpressed. It didn’t seem to have the colour payoff that my other UD palettes have. I decided to wait and see what others thought of it before dropping $80 CND. Since then I have come to terms with not owning it and don’t regret not buying it. It has since been reduced in price, currently retailing for $57 CND which tells me it hasn’t been very successful
There are other palettes that I didn’t buy and don’t regret such as Urban Decay, Alice Through the Looking Glass and one I did buy, but regretted and returned: Tarte Tarteist Pro Amazonian Clay Palette (review here).
Do you have any palettes that you nearly bought, but resisted and stand by that decision?
