My first Julep Beauty Box, first impressions and photos
So, I just received my first Julep Beauty Box and I have to say I am really impressed. Not just with the box contents, but also the quick shipping and quality packaging.
If you are not aware of the Julep Beauty Box, let me explain. I was first drawn to it because it focuses on nail polish, which I love. But, they also include makeup and skincare items, so you don't always have to receive nail polish in your box.
Prior to receiving my first box, I received 12 free nail polishes, just for subscribing. You can read my full review of the free nail polishes in this blog post. You can also get your own set of 12 free nail polishes by using this link.
Anyway, I digress, onto my actual Julep Beauty Box. When you subscribe you end up with several options as far as your beauty box is concerned. You can accept the box they assign you, you can choose from one of several other box variations, or you can go crazy and choose your own products.
The box I had been assigned contained a skin care product, a nail polish and some nail stickers. There were also half a dozen other boxes I could choose from, some with skincare, some with makeup, some with polishes and others with a mixture, but I wanted to gain the full experience of the box and choose my own products.
I was really surprised by the number of items I was able to choose from. There were lots of nail polishes and nail products as well as lots of skincare and makeup items. I didn't count them, but there must have been 50 products to choose from.
I ended up choosing three nail polishes but was still able to add another item from a slimmed down list, I chose a corrector pen. So, that was the end of last month and on March 6th I received my box. So, the shipping was really quick. This is what I got.
Julep Nail Polish - Dory
This is in the Classic With A Twist collection and is described as Sangria Matte Shimmer.
Julep Nail Polish - Polly Ann
This one is from the Bombshell range and is described as Cool Aubergine Matte Shimmer.
Julep Nail Polish - Sonia
From the It Girl range, this is Blue Steel Matte Metallic
I also had the Polish Correcting Pen, which came with three spare tips.
As a bonus item, I also received some nail decals. These are small gold shamrock shapes that were included to celebrate St Patrick's Day. I doubt that I would use them, but they re a nice surprise.
So, overall, I am really pleased with my Julep box. I have only used one of the free shades (Jonna) so far which I reviewed last week. You can find that here.
I am very glad that this box allows you to choose the shade and not just put up with shades they think you might want. I would hate to end up with loads of shades that I never use. You are also able to skip a month or send your box to a friend, this I think is also a really great idea, especially the skipping option. I wish more beauty boxes would have this option.
Now, I cannot wait to choose my next box of goodies.
