My November Ipsy Glam Bag Has Arrived
I am having a love-hate relationship with my Ipsy Glam Bag. Some months I am pretty happy with my items but others I have been really disappointed. I made a decision that this bag would be my decider on whether to carry on my subscription or not. So what are my thoughts?
First off this month's theme is Rockstarlet and the makeup bag this month is a dark blue with either silver or gold graphics on it. The graphics are outline drawings of makeup products highlighted with stars. Some Ipsy members receive the silver version, but I got the gold. Overall this is one of the nicer makeup bags I have received from Ipsy. Now onto the products.
Benefit Cosmetics - the POREfessional face primer
I am no stranger to this primer as I have a full-size tube in my makeup kit. I have really tried to like this product over the last few months, but it just doesn’t cut it with my oily skin. It does work as a primer and does even out pores, it just cannot cope with excessively oily skin like mine. So if you have dry, normal or even combo skin you will probably love it. It’s just not for me.
Hey Honey - Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum
I have never heard of this brand before and have never used a serum, so this will be interesting to try. It boasts being a natural healer that speeds up cell growth and leaves skin soft, bright and glowing. It apparently has silk amino acids to replenish and help maintain moisture throughout the day as well as aloe vera leaf juice and honeysuckle extract to calm skin. If all this is true then I will be a happy bunny. Time will tell.
Absolute New York - Matte Stick
Another brand I have not heard of before. This is a matte lipstick in NFA52 Dark Red. It says it goes on creamy and won’t dry lips. I love matte lipsticks but do find that they can be very drying and feel uncomfortable. I am always willing to try new lipsticks, so will be looking forward to trying this one out. It also says it won’t bleed or run and will stay on until I decide to take it off. Big words!
theBalm Cosmetics - Mad Lash® Mascara
I have had a few theBalm products in my Ipsy bags and they usually are pretty good, so hopefully this will be too. I am a sucker for mascara as I am very blonde and my eyelashes just disappear, so mascara is a must for me. This one has a curved brush which I have found useful with other brands, so hopefully this will be good too.
LAQA & Co. - B'lighter
Another new brand to me and this is a cream highlighter in Peacher's Daughter which is a light pink shimmer. I have been disappointed with cream highlighter products in the past as when used over powder and powder blush it tends to drag the makeup off underneath. However, I am always open to trying new ones, so will give this one a fair trial.
Summary of my Ipsy November Glam Bag
So there is my latest Glam Bag. Overall a little disappointing, but hopefully a couple of products will wow me. As I said at the beginning of my post this bag was my decider in carrying on my subscription or not. I have decided not.
Although the five months of Glam Bags have given me quite a few items that I love, mainly brushes, overall I cannot justify the cost. I know you are saying it is only $10. That’s true, but I am in Canada and so have to pay an additional $5 for shipping, then taking into account the exchange rate it brings each bag to over $20. I really don’t feel that I am getting the items I want to justify this at this point in time. However, if the exchange rate changes, then I will definitely look into subscribing again. But for now, it is adios Ipsy Glam Bag. Thanks for the ride.
