Naked Cosmetics Urban Rustic Palette Review and Swatches
I’ve finally got round to reviewing the Naked Cosmetics, Urban Rustic Palette that I received in my March Boxycharm. When I originally saw the spoilers for this palette, I was a little underwhelmed. The shades didn’t seem to be the ones I’d normally use and I had never heard of Naked Cosmetics. So my expectations were not high.
However, when I received the palette I was a little more objective. At first glance the palette comes in a decent quality black plastic case with a firm clasp. Inside you get three very bold shades in large pans and there is also a mirror included in the lid.
Now, as I mentioned, I was a little concerned about the colours as they didn’t seem as though they went together, nor did they seem to be shades I would normally use, but now I take all that back.
When I did my first quick finger swipe (pic below) after first getting it, I was pleasantly surprised with the pigmentation. One swipe over the shadow and then swiped on my arm gave really good coverage and great pigment.
Now I have had the chance to swatch properly with my brush over primer and wow, these colours are really bright and pigmented. They glide on beautifully and cause very little fallout. All good things in my book. I have tried to take photos is slightly different lights so you can see the shimmer etc.
These are really stunning shadows of great quality and I am so glad I have them to add to my collection. I don’t think I’ll get much use out of the green and it is not a shade I wear, but the other two, hell yes!
My only niggle, is that the pans were not stuck to the palette very well and once, when I turned it upside down whilst open, two fell out. Fortunately they did not break or shatter, so I was able to stick them back in, but it would have been nice if I didn’t have to do this.
This palette retails from the Naked Cosmetics website for $39.99 USD and even though you only get three shade for that price, I do think they are worth it.
