Project Beauty - Hairgurt Smoothing Yoghurt Shampoo Review
I received this shampoo in my April 2017 Boxycharm. I’d never heard of it before, but lots of other Boxycharmers were saying how good it was, so I was eager to try it.
Unlike many shampoos that come in bottles, this comes in a 4 FL. OZ. / 118 ML tube. It didn't look very big and I was concerned about it not lasting very long. But time would tell. The second thing to note is that it comes in strawberry and banana fragrance. At first, I was a bit wary of this as I don’t normally like my shampoos smelling of food, but when I smelt it in the tube it wasn’t too bad, so was willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.
My hair is very fine and I always try to buy shampoos that promise to add volume or body, just to give it that little oomph! This was a smoothing shampoo, so I was concerned that it might do the opposite.
The great thing about it though, is that it is full of good things with none of the bad. It is free of sulphates, parabens, harsh salt systems, harmful colours and harmful fragrances. It is full of Yogurt Powder, Prebiotics, Quinoa, Botanical Oil Blend and Bio-Keratin.
I normally use both a shampoo and conditioner on my hair every day, but as I only had the shampoo in this brand and didn’t want to mix it with a different conditioner, I decided to just use the shampoo and see how it felt.
The shampoo foams up well and felt nice and didn’t smell as much as I expected. Once I had finished shampooing and rinsing I combed my hair through and then blow dried in my normal way. My hair felt very very smooth and silky, in fact, it felt great. If I didn’t know any better I would have sworn I’d used a conditioner it was that soft and silky.
It also gave my hair a lot of body which I didn't expect from a smoothing shampoo. I was so impressed with it I continued to use it for the next couple of weeks until I ran out of product.
This is where it gets depressing! After falling in love with this product, I just can't find it available in Canada. I have looked in lots of shops and online and although I can get it from places such as Amazon.com, shipping and exchange rates etc make it a non-starter. I’m really disappointed, as I really liked this shampoo and would absolutely have continued to buy if I could have purchased it locally.
For anyone in the United States that have access to this product either in a shop of from the Project Beauty website, I would say give it a try. It retails for $10 and is well worth it. I definitely didn’t feel like I need to use a conditioner with it, so you would be saving there too. I’m just disappointed that I can’t join in the fun!
