Riversol Anti-Aging Trio for Sensitive Skin Products Review
I recently got samples of a Canadian brand of skincare for sensitive skin called Riversol. The samples are good for 15 days and this is my opinion of the products.
I love trying out skin care products in search of my holy grail product which I still haven't found. I was particularly interested in this one as it is a Canadian brand developed in British Columbia by board-certified dermatologist Dr. Jason Rivers and is cruelty-free.
The samples arrived in a small envelope and inside was a 15-day sample kit. I got the kit for Anit-Ageing sensitive, oily skin, but they also do one for redness control.
The kit contains cleanser, serum and moisturizer and are divided into small sachets, each designed to last 5 days. I also received abonus Eye Repair Treatment sachet.
In total, the kit included 3 sachets of cleanser, 3 of moisturizer, 2 of serum and one eye repair. Because the products take time for the skin to get used to you have to use then in a certain way.
Days 1 - 5
Use the cleanser, followed by the moisturizer once per day. It doesn't state whether morning or evening is better, but I used mine in the evening as I wanted to make the most of the cleanser by using it after makeup removal.
Days 6 - 10
As days 1 - 5, but this time, use the serum after the cleanser and before the moisturizer, once per day.
Days 11 - 15
During these days you can use the three products as per days 6 - 11, but twice a day.
What does it claim to do?
Well, the products are promoted to do the following.
- Reduces the look of wrinkles and fine lines
- Reduces dark spots, sun damage and uneven skin tone
- Improves radiance and texture

Did it work?
Well, I followed the routine as described and didn't really see any changes to my skin. The cleanser did what it was supposed to do, clean the skin and remove dirt etc. But then, so do many other cleansers I have tried.
The serum felt nice on the skin, but I could not see that it made any difference and although the moisturizer again felt nice and moisturized my skin without making it feel greasy, it was no better than others I had tried.
Overall, I liked the product, it worked like many other products and certainly didn't make my skin any worse. I did not see any difference in my fine lines or dark spots, but I would continue using it except for one major factor - price!
If I were to purchase all three products, a three-month supply would cost $157 CND plus tax, although they have an offer on at the moment so this is reduced to $139. I was also emailed a 15% discount coupon off my first order, so this would have been reduced further to $118.15 plus tax. But of course, you always have to be aware that for any future orders you must be prepared to pay the full retail cost of $157, that's over $50 per month. Shipping is free on orders over $89 CND.
Now I know that this is certainly within the normal price point of many mid-high-end skin care systems, but if I am paying that much money, I want it to work, and be significantly better than others on the market. I cannot say this is the case for me.
There are hundreds of positive reviews on the website, so many people have found it beneficial for them. I also wrote a review for the website, echoing this review and giving it 3 out of five available stars, but I couldn't see that my review was never published.
Try it yourself
So, I'm still looking for my holy grail products, but if you want to try out this one, you can do so for free on their website. You get the trial pack of your choice and all you have to pay is $3 for shipping and handling.
Just because it didn't work brilliantly for me, doesn't mean it won't for you.
