Shoppers Drug Mart Haul For Black Friday Points Event

Shoppers Drug Mart Haul For Black Friday Points Event

In Canada, we have Shoppers Drug Mart, which has drugstore and high-end brands. They have a very good points system and every so often holds a special event to get the most from your points.

This weekend to coincide with Black Friday, There was a spend your points event whereby you could spend a certain amount of points, worth a certain amount and then get some points back. I have been collecting my points for some time, so had enough to redeem the highest amount of 95,000 points which allowed me to buy $170 CND of products for free. You do have to pay the tax, but that's all. Not only do you get these free, but you then get $40 worth of points credited back to you. It's a no-brainer!

So, armed with my points card and a shopping list of things I wanted I was at the store as they opened on Saturday morning. I had enough things on my list to account for nearly half the amount I could redeem, so the rest of it was undecided.

Well, I spend ages in the store, like about 90 minutes, trying to decide what to buy. I kept putting things in my basket, then finding something else and swapping it out. I went on like this forever, I just couldn't decide. However, eventually, I made my choices and went to check out.

I had spent a few dollars over my $170 target, but in the end, only paid $20 (overspend and tax) for all this! Oh, and because I spent over $100, I also got a goodie bag full of samples.

I got two palettes, one from PUR which is the PUR Pro x Etienne Palette I spoke about on the blog a while back, link here. I also got a Lise Watier palette which caught my eye called Smokey Nudes.

The other items I got with points included Cetaphil cleanser and moisturizer, Maybelline concealer and L'Oreal Infallible Pro foundation. The other items in the photo are the freebies in my goodie bag which included hair serum, body lotion, fragrance, nail polish and Clinique mascara and eyeliner.

I am very happy with my $20 haul and look forward to trying out the new palettes, which I course I will review and swatch for you in the coming days.
