StriVectin Bodifying Radiance Serum for fine hair Review

StriVectin Bodifying Radiance Serum for fine hair Review

I have very fine hair that I am always trying to make more manageable, more volume and less flyaway. Well, I think that StriVectin Bodifying Radiance Serum might be the miracle I've been waiting for.

I got this full-size product (50 ml / 1.7 fl oz from Shoppers Drug Mart. I didn't buy it and in fact, had never even heard of the brand, but during a recent spend your points event they were giving away goodie bags when you spend over $100. This was in mine.

I was quite happy to find this as it stated on the bottle it was for fine or flat hair - well, that's me! Over the years I've gotten used to promises of fuller, more manageable hair, but rarely finding them to be true. Sometimes you gain one thing at the expense of another, but I wanted to try this out to see if it worked.

So, what does it claim to do?

“This weightless, volumizing hair serum delivers leave-in luster and remodels hair strands for enhanced fullness. Formulated with NIA-114™ and Lumiphyto Complex™, it transforms UV rays into visible light for increased radiance and enhanced volume and body. Hair strands appear fuller and shinier, without being weighed down. Fragranced with bursts of fresh citrus.
Free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, and synthetic dyes. Safe for color or chemically treated hair.”

90% agree hair feels weightless
90% agree hair has a healthy glow
87% agree hair feels fuller

Well, it promises a lot and some of it sounds like a lot of BS, but I'm willing to try anything. To use, you simply apply to damp hair after washing and style as normal. The bottle is a pump bottle and I use about three pumps for my just below the shoulder length hair. I then comb it through and style.

The serum is clear and easily spreads through the hair and doesn't feel sticky on either the hands or the hair. The fragrance is very light and hardly noticeable which I like.

But did it work?

I have to say yes it did. I didn't notice big changes in volume, but it definitely made my hair feel fuller and it helps my hair hold a curl when I choose to curl it. Normally curls fall out after a few hours but using this serum definitely helped.

For me, the biggest difference is the softness it gives my hair without it feeling limp and lifeless. It is so soft to the touch I find myself twisting it through my fingers as it feels so nice, it also doesn't weigh my hair down like so many other products. My hair doesn't feel sticky or stiff, it's just soft and full of body. It also adds to the shine, so I suppose that BS sentence in the description about UV rays is actually true. Who knew!

It does add volume.
It makes my hair feel fuller.
It does feel weightless.
It makes my hair softer.
It makes my hair shine.
Oh, I forgot to mention it calms down the flyaways too!

So, I guess I fit into all those high percentage stats they mention.

The only one I can think of is the price. It retails for around $35 CND.

I love this serum and will definitely buy it again. I will also try their shampoo and conditioner from the same range to see if they make any further difference. Could I have found my holy grain product?
