What's inside your makeup bag?
After featuring my own makeup bag last week, Mandy from Barrie, Ontario reached out and sent me a photo of her makeup bag with all her favourite products.
Me: Are the contents of this bag your everyday makeup items?
Mandy: Yes, I use most of these products every day, but I do have two other eyeshadow palettes from NYX that I also use, but this is my main one. The others are a bit bright for everyday wear.
Me; You have quite a few NYX products, is this a favourite brand of yours?
Mandy: Yes, I do use a lot of their stuff, don't I. It is both cheap and good quality. I don't use any high-end stuff, although the brow pencil is MAC, but only because my friend gave it to me as an unwanted item from her subscription box.
So, let's take a look at the contents and Mandy's views of them.
I only tend to use brown shades regularly, so this palette is fine for me. I have two other NYX palettes with brighter colours, but rarely use them. I would like to expand my palette range, but don't want to spend a fortune.
I have tried a few foundations, but so far this is my favourite. It stops my forehead from being so oily and I find it easy to use.
To be honest, this is a shade too dark for me, but I don't want to get another one until I've used this up. I'm terrible at throwing things away that are not used up.
I actually have two blushes from NYX, this one is Journey and I also have one called Foreplay.
This is the best mascara I have used. It gives me full lashes and makes them look longer too. It has a curved brush which I had never come across before but really like. It seems to get into all the lashes, even the tiniest ones.
I only got this last week to try to experiment with eyeliner. I never normally use it, but really would like to master cat eyes. I'm not sure even if I've got the right type of product!
I love these lipsticks and have three or four in different pink shades, although this one is redder and I have it in my bag because I went out yesterday and wore it and forgot to swap it for one of the paler ones.
This is the only high-end item I own and I didn't buy it, my friend gave it to me. It was too light for her but is great for me. I usually use the NYX micro pencil but this, if I'm honest is better, but I probably wouldn't buy it for myself when it runs out. I'll just go back to NYX.
Because I have an oily forehead, I spray this on after I've done my foundation. I think it helps to keep it a bit more matte for longer than if I didn't use it.
I don't have many brushes as I only recently started using a brush to apply foundation. I always used my fingers before. The only ones I have are all Eco Tools as I found a few at bargain prices in Winners last year.
I really like the eyeshadow brushes and of course the foundation brush. The blush brush is a new one for me and a bit bigger than the one I used to use, so I'm not sure how I'll get on with that.
Anyone reading this will think I'm a bit cheap and I suppose I am, but I don't see any point in spending more than I need to. Most of these products suit me fine and so I'll keep buying them. I hadn't really realized how many NYX items I have, but I guess when I need makeup I just gravitate to their products. They rarely let me down, so I guess I'm a fan!
