Your Face: Meet Nhi from Calgary
Nhi and Cham, who I featured a few days ago are two pretty sisters who I met whilst wandering around downtown Calgary. I stopped to ask Nhi about makeup and especially her lashes!
As part of my new series of posts, called Your Face, I'm finding people who have great makeup and unique looks. Whether I meet them on the streets, online or know them personally, I find out a little about them and ask them about their makeup.
Nhi is a lash technician who was born in Calgary, but has Vietnamese heritage, hence her stunning looks.
Do you have a favourite brand of makeup?
Not really, I have lots of high-end makeup brands, although I do love Anastasia (Beverly Hills). I also love Too Faced Born This Way Foundation as it really suits my dry skin.
So, you prefer high-end to drugstore makeup?
It depends on the product, With foundation, high-end tends to cover a wider range of skin tones and has better pigmentation. I think with foundation and eyeshadows you need a lot of pigment, which you get with high-end brands. But for my brows, I use a Revlon pencil.
How many lipsticks do you own?
Do you have a favourite eyeshadow palette?
Q: So, do you use singles instead?
A: No, I tend to do my lashes and face makeup and that's it.
Talking of lashes, yours are beautiful, what brand are they?
Actually, they are lash extensions. I am a lash technician (Lashes by Nhi), so do a lot of lash extensions.
Q: How long do they last?
A: About 8 weeks with touch ups in between.
Q: How long does the process take?
A: These took about three hours.
Do you have a makeup tip you care to share?
I think with dry skin it's really important to use a setting spray as it softens the foundation reducing dryness, especially around the nose.
And finally, what does makeup mean to you?
I kind of just wear it for fun. Since I dyed my hair, my makeup doesn't go with it anymore. I prefer my natural colour.
